Lily's First Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a blast at my moms house. This is the first year I have had Thanksgiving at my mom's. We usually have dinner at my dad's family or Brian's family. IT was very small and relaxing not to mention the food was amazing. My mom really outdid herself this year. Lily's did so well too...she slept mostly. My great Grandpa Rollin was there and that was special because this is our last Thanksgiving with him. He told lots of stories and we all had a great time.

Great Grandpa Blues

Just found out that my 93 year old Great Grandpa has Acute Leukemia! Its just awful and I'm really sad about it. We share the same birthday. The doctors only gave him 3months to live. He has gone his whole like with a clean bill of health only taking an advil a day for normal joint pain you would expect at 93. He has lived a long happy life I just wish the last part of it didn't have to be in pain.

Doctor Doctor tell me the news

Wednesday Lily had her 2 month check up at the doctors. She had to get three shots...poor baby. She did rather well I think I had a harder time with it than she did. She screamed for a bit but as soon as it was over I picked her up and she was asleep. She was a little cranky for the next day and wouldn't eat much. Of course I worried like crazy but the nurses assured me its just because of the shots. She also had to have an eye examination on Tuesday. Creepiest thing ever. Its all dark in the room and then all you see is this big eye staring up because its being held open by a thing that looks like a bent paperclip. She screamed during that too...but wouldn't you if you couldn't close your eye and someone was poking it and shining a bright light on it. So far the many dr visits have been pleasant experiences I hope the cardiologist appointment in a few months is the same.

Lily's Home

Lily came home on Sunday 11/16!!!! She just all of a sudden decided she was ready to go and started feeding like a champion:) Since she has been home she has been eating better than ever, we are so proud of her. Sleeping on the other hand has become more difficult for her since she left the hospital. It was louder and brighter in the hospital plus she isn't quite used to her bed at home. We had her first doctor's appointment tuesday and she checked out just fine..weighs 5lbs 10.5 oz now!! SO BIG!!! Its hard to believe she was only 3lbs 5.5 oz when she was born. She is 7 weeks old today. Her moniter is a pain in the rear, I swear it goes off every half hour...but only because the darn leads won't stay on. She is so squirmy she moves them around and then they fall off. Brian and I couldn't be happier that she is home and thriving....if only we could catch some zzz's now!

WAHM

So I'm trying to find my path in life career wise. I know I am meant to do more than answer phones and pay bills at my brother's office.

Now that I am staying at home with Lily I am on the hunt for a career that would allow me to work from home.

Any Ideas??

A little about me

My name is Turi Goetz-Clough. This year has been the most eventful year of my life. I got engaged, got married, got pregnant, moved to Peoria, and had a baby. Wow talk about an exciting year. My husbands name is Brian, he is absolutely wonderful. My daughter's name is Lily she is 6weeks and 2days old. She looks just like her daddy, though her feet and hands look like mine, and we have the same birthmark on our foreheads. My life is pretty exhausting right now. I go to work part time and a real-estate office and then spend the rest of my day at the hospital with my daughter. She is doing better. She weighed 3lbs 5.5 oz when she was born and we weighed her two days ago and she was at 5lbs 6oz. She is getting so big and its crazy because she is still so small. I sometimes feel like I'm missing out on her life because everyday I see her she is getting bigger and she is not home with me she is still at the hospital. All she has to do now is take her bottle at all 8 feedings and she will be able to come home. Life is also extremely stressful, because Lily was born early my husband and I decided to keep her home and not put her in daycare, which means I am staying home with her. While staying home with my baby is my dream I just wish money wasn't so tight. Brian works in car sales, which you can imagine sucks right now because of the economy and we are struggling pretty badley. I have faith things will turn around for us and I am trying to stay positive.

All for now,
TDC
